A Week at Canvas

Posted on 19. Oct, 2009 by Kevin in Blog, Events, Off-Topic

Every week we do our best to bring you loads of fun and exciting ways to get involved with the community at Canvas. So, we’re taking a quick moment to share all of the great things that happen at Canvas every single week. Always be sure to check the events calendar for even more ways you can get involved with Canvas. Here’s what keeps us busy every week.

Mondays (every fortnight)
Canvas Open Mic Night | 8pm
Bring some songs to play or just come to enjoy some great, local artists. Free coffee, free tea, free desserts at intermission. Click here to save your space to play.

Tuesdays
Tuesday Night at Canvas | 8pm
Every Tuesday night, come to Canvas for a free dinner, live music from an excellent band, and a talk from one of the Canvas staff about the journey they’ve had with their Christian faith (it’s probably not what you expect).

Thursdays
Free Lunch Thursday | 12pm to 2pm
Walk by Canvas on your way to or from lectures for a free lunch. Feel free to stop and eat at Canvas or take it away. Either way, it’s free and it’s good.

Tuesday Night Recap | 1pm to 2pm
Want to talk about Tuesday Night at Canvas? Come to Canvas to ask your questions and hear more about the topic of the staff’s Tuesday night talk.

Fridays
Prayer and Communion | 10am to 10:30am
If you’d like to join the Canvas staff for a time of prayer and communion, come to Canvas to talk and pray about whatever is on your mind.

Guy’s Basketball | 1:45pm
Meet at Canvas at 1:45pm and then head to the ball court to demonstrate your crazy basketball skills.

This is just a small glimpse of what a week at Canvas is like. There are other great events that happen less frequently, events like Clean Up Selly Oak Days, meetings about our forthcoming trip to Mexico to build a house for a family in need, and even Birmingham Marrow, a bone marrow effort in conjunction with the Anthony Nolan Trust. When your looking for a great way to spend an evening or meet new people, just check out our events calendar and come to Canvas.
