This Week at Canvas

I can’t figure out if I should be excited about the snowfall last night. I mean, it looks kind of cool, but really it’s just a tease. And most likely there’s ice somewhere that I’m going to slip on. So, maybe I’m not too excited about it.
But, I AM excited about this week’s events at Canvas! Here’s what’s going on:
Open Mic, Monday night, 8pm. Two weeks ago, someone who resembled Mozart got on stage and played the piano. Who knows who’ll be playing this week?! Whether you play music or just stomp your foot in the shower (not sure if people do that), you’re invited to come along. It all starts around 8. See you there!
Tuesday Night at Canvas, 8pm. This week, just like every week, we’re eating a delicious dinner, listening to some great music and hearing a talk from a Canvas staff member about his walk through his Christian faith. Afterward, we’ll head down to the pub to hang out with each other. Dinner starts at 8. Hope you can make it!
Wednesday, 12:30pm. Birmingham Marrow, in partnership with the Anthony Nolan Trust will be providing a Bone Marrow Clinic at Canvas. This is a great way to make a real difference for someone. Watch a video about Birmingham Marrow and how your time can help.
Thursday, BBQ, 12pm. Come by Canvas to grab a FREE burger (or two) on your way to or from Uni. Each week, we cook until about 2. So come eat some lunch with us!
Souper Thursday, 7pm. On a cold, winter night, there’s nothing better than a hot bowl of Lloyd Grossman’s soup… and some warm bread. That’s exactly what we’re serving up on Thursday evening. After we eat, we’ll play some games, ping-pong, go to the pub… really anything our hearts desire. Again, we’ll start eating at 7. Hope you can make it!
Friday Sports. Each week, some people get together and play some crazy game at Canvas. Last week, we had an interesting game of crawly-pong… an American mixture of ping-pong, cricket, and volleyball… I have a feeling we’ll be playing again this Friday. Come by at 2 for some fun times.
As always, the house is open during the day with tea and coffee available for your sipping pleasure. Hope to see you around!
